Adamo Group began demolition yesterday at a Lafayette Park building near downtown Detroit. The building, once known as Shapiro Hall, was a former location for Wayne State University’s pharmacy program. The site has been previously vacant for years. The location will be redeveloped into a new 374 unit residential property. The 8 story tower will be removed, making room for the $108 million residential development which will feature 60 condominiums and 314 rental properties. Demolition is expected to last until late Spring. The new Lafayette West Development is set to open by late 2020. As a Detroit Headquartered business, Adamo is proud to be a part of what will be a major milestone in the city’s continued revitalization.
