MDEQ Riverfront Promenade Project

This project was completed by Adamo east of the Detroit Renaissance Center and GM’s Headquarters. Standing on the banks of the Detroit River for over 50 years, the Larfarge, Holnam and Cemex silos ranged in height from 70 to 187 feet, and included the ancillary buildings and process equipment.

The honeycomb construction of two of the systems complicated the demolition, as did the 187ft silo bordered by the Detroit River on one side and an inlet on a second side. Experience and precision work by Adamo’s operators and equipment brought the structures down precisely as planned.  98% of the materials from this 6-month project were recycled.
