Adamo performed the Farmington Hills DPS Water Supply System Improvements, Water Storage Tank Site Work.
The project involved removing and installing new approaches; repairing a portion of Halsted Road; installing new site storm drainage, new drive and parking lot paving on the site; and construction of a storage structure and entry/exit gates with security card reader systems.
Demolition of West Grand Boulevard bridge over Interstate 94 in Detroit.
The project included the removal of the entire bridge, piers, foundations and ramps. The work was completed during 2 consecutive weekend shutdown periods, both weekends were completed 6 hours ahead of schedule minimizing the disruption of traffic on the major thoroughfare into the City of Detroit.

Adamo was contracted to remove Pier 19 at the $230 million Gateway Project.
This project involved the demolition of the I-94 overpass atop Interstate 75, a major artery into the City of Detroit. Demolition included the overpass, piers, foundations, and ramps.
The work was completed within two weekends using a 24 hour working schedule to minimize disruption to traffic.
Adamo provided emergency response to the Michigan Department of Transportation, Detroit Water and Sewer Department and Detroit City Engineering when a large sinkhole developed at the corner of Jefferson and Randolph, one of the busiest intersections in downtown Detroit.
Adamo excavated and cleaned out the sinkhole, made repairs to the 5’ diameter combination sewer and coordinated repairs to AT&T conduits, a Public Lighting Department vault and an existing 8” water main. Adamo also provided traffic control for the 4 month period until the repairs were complete and the intersection was repaved.
This project included the demolition of the Water Treatment Plant and excavation of 300,000 sq ft underground reservoirs for the upgrade and new construction of this state-of-the-art water processing facility.
The project generated over 400,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil being completed in the active Water Treatment Plant with no interruption to service.
Adamo was contracted to remove Pier 19 at the $230 million Gateway Project.
Pier 19 needed to come down quickly and with absolute accuracy, hence the use of the APEX 70 Ultra High Demolition (UHD) Hydraulic Excavator. There was only a small window of time to remove the 65 foot tall pier which was located within a few feet of the existing Ambassador Bridge.
Adamo was able to remove the pier in half the time at half the cost of traditional removal methods while keeping the Ambassador Bridge operational during the demolition due to the precision of the 8,000 pound hydraulic hammer attachment.
